Our Mission

Santa Maria Police Council, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation. The council serves to support Santa Maria Police Department to enable purchase of safety materials and equipment for the men and women of the department over and above what the operating budget allows.

Our Goals

Since the Santa Maria Police Council’s formation in August 2007, over $525,000 has been donated to the Santa Maria Police Department for the following:

  • “AIRSOFT” TRAINING WEAPONS
  • CRIME LAB EQUIPMENT
  • GEM CART BATTERIES & UPGRADES
  • HOBBLE RESTRAINTS
  • K-9 UNITS

  • K-9 TRAINING BITE SUITS
  • NIGHT VISION TRAINING
  • BADGE PATCHES FOR THE SMPD EXPLORER PROGRAM
  • STATE-OF-THE-ART PROPERTY & EVIDENCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
  • SWAT SIMULATION/SPECIALIZED TRAINING WEAPONS
  • TASERS FOR EVERY OFFICER

Join the Team!

The SMPC annual membership contribution is $200 for individual and $250 for a family of (2) or business. Lifetime membership contributions are $2000 for an individual or $2500 for a family of (2) or business. As a member your name or company name– if you so choose — will appear on correspondence and /or programs for special events. In addition, you will receive a Santa Maria Police Council membership sticker, certificate and lapel pin. Lifetime membership will also receive a plaque.
